MITRE operates federally funded research and development centers, including the Center for Advanced Aviation System Development that has supported the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for more than 50 years. ![]() MITRE is a not-for-profit organization that provides systems engineering, research and development, and information technology support to the government. Advanced concepts are progressed into early implementation so as to sustain the rapid growth in support of the plans of Dubai Airports and Dubai's airlines, namely Emirates and flyDubai. DANS is enhancing the Key Performance Areas of Safety, Capacity, Productive, Environmental Efficiency, Resilience and Contingency through the identification, validation, and deployment of innovative, cutting-edge solutions. These initiatives span the areas of airside concept development, Performance-Based Navigation procedures and airspace design, benefit-cost analysis, and air traffic safety assessment.ĭANS is the Air Navigation Service Provider to Dubai Airports, providing a diverse range of Air Traffic Services at Dubai International (DXB), Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central (DWC) and providing the ATC service within the terminal airspace of the Northern Emirates. The collaborative activities MITRE and DANS have initially agreed to undertake include air traffic management research and development as well as knowledge and technology sharing initiatives.
